A breath of fresh air for a stagnant social media presence.

When the Hocking Hills Tourism Association came to Cement Marketing, they were disappointed in their social media performance. Under the management of a larger advertising agency, they had expected better results.

Arguably the most beautiful part of Ohio with its rolling hills, waterfalls and inspiring caves, clearly the issue wasn’t the product. Once under our management social engagement jumped at astounding rates.

Double and triple digit results

When we took over the Hocking Hills social accounts reach sat at a dismal 300 – 1000 per post. Through careful page management and with a limited ad budget we grew engagement to 14K on a bad day and over 130K+ on the best days. The page also rose from 7K unengaged fans to 37K highly engaged fans. And by June of 2016, social referrals made up 11% of total website traffic, or 466K total visits, double what it had been under previous management.

The Hocking Hills Instagram calendar

As an extension of our social strategy, we wanted to reward loyal fans who were capturing the most stunning views of Hocking Hills. We created an Instagram calendar contest using the hashtag #hockinghills2016. Out of more than 2,300 unique submissions, only dozens were carefully chosen to be featured on the month their photo was shot. The contest was so successful, that it was relaunched for 2017.
