For Future Consideration: Jr. Copywriter

Cement is seeking a Junior Copywriter to join our creative team. This role will report to the Senior Copywriter and partner closely with design and strategy to deliver strong messaging across multiple channels (+ multiple brand voices, as well!). The ability to adapt to the mindset of each and every client is essential. You must have the flexibility to switch gears and reprioritize on a moment’s notice. We are looking for someone with an enthusiastic attitude towards new challenges, an innovative approach to every project and a collaborative spirit that’s ready to be inspired. Combine those with an almost nerd-like love of grammatical repairs and it’s a match made in (copywriting) heaven.

 

As a Junior Copywriter, you will be responsible for:

  • Writing compelling content that meets (+ exceeds) client needs. This includes everything from a quick social media caption to a long-form blog post, and everything in between (taglines, brand positioning, etc.)
  • Writing for internal marketing needs (e.g., Cement Marketing website, case studies, etc.), because sometimes, it really is all about us
  • Proofreading copy (eagle eyes, wanted)
  • Incorporating keyword research (conducted by strategy) into copy, when necessary
  • Interviewing clients and other sources for information pertinent to generating strategies, concepting and copywriting
  • Participating in client brainstorms, proposals and new agency initiatives
  • Working collaboratively within team environment to ensure quality and consistency across all clients
  • Meeting all deadlines and managing priorities to meet milestones and client needs

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Creative Writing or English preferred
  • 1-2 years in a similar role required; agency experience preferred
  • Sharp proofreading skills with exceptionally strong spelling and grammar
  • A portfolio, blog, or website showcasing examples of your work
