When Nationwide Children’s Hospital approached Cement Marketing to find a digital counterpart to their real wishing trees, on display throughout central Ohio in anticipation of the new hospital opening, we aimed to find a solution that would allow visitors to post wishes just as they could on the real trees.
NCH also challenged us to find a way to incorporate the Ohio butterflies featured in the hospital’s new logo with the virtual wishing tree. After only four weeks from concept to launch, the result is here. Visitors to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital virtual wishing tree can post wishes with text only or enhance them with photographs and/or YouTube videos.
Each wish then takes its place on the tree as a butterfly.
The butterfly wishes bring the NCH brand to life and the wishing tree will be a central focus of the hospital’s ongoing outreach and marketing to the central Ohio community. In just two weeks after launch the wishing tree has gathered over 100 wishes and continues to grow. After each wish is submitted the wish giver receives an email encouraging them to share the wish with their friends via Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and other social networks.
